• ACOUSTIC PERFORMANCE: Greenstuf polyester insulation will perform as an acoustic material in a construction system, by providing a sound absorbing factor in the construction cavity. Typical improvement in sound transmission (STC) through a wall is 6-8 points on stc of the construction system without insulation eg: STC 35 +6 = 41 STC

• CORROSIVENESS: When tested in accordance with NZ 4222, Greenstuf polyester is classified as non -corrosive. The pH IS 7.8 (7 is neutral)

• COMPOSITION: Organic, long chain synthetic polymer. carbon-hydrogen oxygen.

Many of the homes we inspect these days have dirty, old and quite often rat infested fiberglass insulation in the roof cavities, and the fiberglass batts have often been disturb by various trades ie plumbers, electricians etc. The old insulation has generally deteriorated to a point, that the only safe and healthy option is to remove it and vacuum the roof space of dust and debris and rat droppings and start over.
